Age: 16
Background: Annie on the Wiki

Arrival Scenario: Free Cities

Suitability:

Antimony isn't a stranger to the weird and complex. Four years in the Court has given her enough confidence and aplomb to deal with an entire world of strangeness that goes for both the etheric (mystical) and technological. She's a quick thinker and has grown to learn how to act decisively. A whole new world full of its own particularities and events would be much par on the course to what she has experienced so far. She's very much used to tackle on matters that seemingly far exceed her capabilities, mainly through patience and preparation, like how she took four years of training and meeting the right people to free a ghost that was literally holding back an entire magical forest by its sheer ability to kill anything that came close enough to it.

While she's very much a lover, the spark of the fire elemental shines within her, giving her more than enough spunk to hold her ground and do things her way, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. She's already well used to handling complex diplomatic tensions too, as her work as the Forest Medium has prepared her to clash with all sorts of beings and worldviews, and to make herself an authority figure among those.

Powers:

Fire Elemental: Antimony is part Fire Elemental. Exactly how much of her is that is unclear, but it doesn't seem to be something that dilutes over time, seeing as how she's even stronger than her mother in some aspects. As a Fire Elemental, Antimony can literally turn into living flame, but usually her "flame on" (a phrase never used on the comics btw) form has her looking still very human shaped. She can create fire that burns only what she wants it so, create extreme heat with herself at the epicentre, fly and set most things on fire just by being close enough as well as focus her fire on a single point, creating a burning laser that can be aimed and moved as fast as she can move her hand. She's also far more resistant to damage in this form. While her fire is far more resistant to coldness and wetness than regular fire she's still susceptible to such things, and coldness/wetness related magic is a direct counter to her, provided she cannot melt or vaporize it first.

Etheric Attunement: The etheric can be also simply understood as the mystic or "magical". Antimony has something of an aura that gives her some sort of enhanced rapport towards the etheric, allowing her to more easily relate and befriend mystical beings. There is no clear indication whether this could translate to a predisposition for the mystical arts, as it's not something that she has ever been taught on.

Astral Projection: Antimony is proficient at projecting her consciousness away from her body, being capable of observing the world like this, even being able to traverse large distances this way. While projecting, Antimony can also see etheric traces of people, these relating to their own abilities and characteristics, as well as whether they might have an astral appearance that differs from the real world. Antimony is strong enough with projection that she can easily move physical objects with ease. While using this ability, Antimony becomes far less aware of her immediate surroundings, although she's not entirely oblivious.

Potential Psychopomp/Guide of the Dead: Antimony can see and interact with the beings known to carry the souls of the departed into the beyond, or the Ether itself in the case of her world (although this is hinted to NOT be the afterlife, but details remain unclear). Antimony herself has guided three souls into the Ether: her mother, a ghost named Mort that she befriended for years and the ghost Jeanne, who was holding the divide between the Court and the Forest. Antimony currently has made a pact with the Guides that she will eventually go "work" with them, but it's not clear what that entails. In the absence of a Guide, Antimony can do their work, although she's not fond of the idea.

PERSONALITY QUESTIONS

Describe an important event in your character's life and how it impacted them.

Weeks after arriving in the Court, Antimony helped a robot and a shadow man (long story) cross the bridge dividing the Court and the Forest. Later, the robot came back, possessed by another shadow man, and pushed Antimony off the edge of the bridge. She was supposed to die there, but time traveling shenanigans basically rewrote the timeline and saved her life. Antimony first met the ghost Jeanne down there, almost dying to her blade. Once rescued, she made it her responsibility to help her pass over the other side. This endeavour took Antimony four entire years before she was strong enough and had friends strong enough to finally free Jeanne without dying while trying, and it cemented much of who Antimony is as a person, her opinions on the Court (which cruelly bound Jeanne's spirit to the Annan River crossing under the bridge as well as the soul of her lover) and her desire to do the right thing.

Does your character have a moral code, or other set of standards they try to live by?

Antimony basically lives by a "live and let live" philosophy.

Also known as "seek no violence, yet take no shit". She's a perfectly civil individual, but she's not the kind of person that will let others walk over her, or the people she holds dear.

What quality or qualities do they admire most?

Antimony doesn't truly expect much of people, but as she gets to know them she's naturally drawn to people that's loyal and that don't find her weirdness off putting (or at least try to ignore it). The bar is relatively low with her, but she appreciates the effort others put into befriending her.

Among her friends and trusted ones, Antimony appreciates people that bring different things to the table, that have passions and follow them unashamedly.

Do they have a part of themselves they dislike?

Antimony is still a bit self-conscious about the way she performs in social situations, which used to be terrible but has been getting better the longer she's been around others in the Court, and the Forest. Still, she remains relatively sheltered and many things like innuendo and pop culture tend to fly straight over her head. It can make her feel left out of her age group at times, but she's working diligently about it. She did spend about the first twelve years of her life surrounded by the Guides of the Dead, her dying mother and her emotionally distant father, so that has left a mark, and she knows it.

What is their sign, and why?

Antimony is The Devil. Strongly individualistic, brash and inspiring, she's a trailblazer. The fiery personality that comes with her fire elemental nature makes her a bit hotheaded (irony, I know) and argumentative, but also quick to see the error of her ways and apologize. She knows she stands out and while she's not seeking the attention, she enjoys being seen and depended on, which she takes seriously. She's a name people remember and she wouldn't change herself for the world.
